Concept Art for Star Wars Eclipse Offers a New Look at Its Upcoming Characters
Concept art for Star Wars Eclipse has leaked online, providing a fresh look at the upcoming game from the development studio Quantic Dream, which has been absent for some time. Despite being first revealed at The Game Awards 2021, the company has yet to announce an official release date for the highly anticipated game, which is still in its early stages of development.
The concept art was briefly posted in an artist's portfolio before being taken down, but that did not stop it from spreading across the internet. Interestingly, the images feature character designs from various species that will appear in the next Star Wars game, including Gungan and Rodian.
Most of the character designs are simply categorized by their species in Star Wars, but two characters stand out: Travis and Gotrex Kamzek, whose files were named with distinctive labels, suggesting they are likely to play more significant roles in the game.
The developer has not revealed much about Star Wars Eclipse other than that it will be the first game in the Star Wars series set in an unexplored region of the Outer Rim during the High Republic era, known as the golden age of the Jedi Knights.
The game will build on Quantic Dream's extensive experience in crafting deep, branching narratives, and will push beyond their current reputation with this upcoming project. It will include pivotal choices for players that will dramatically affect key events in the story, as every decision could have a significant impact on the course of the plot.
Here are some of the leaked concept art images:
